Common questions

I clicked Record but nothing happened.
Recording can't start on browser-internal pages — chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store, and other extensions' pages are off-limits to every extension, not just this one. Open the site you want to demo in a normal tab and try again.
My recording stopped on its own.
Recordings stop automatically at your plan's maximum length, and when a free account runs out of credit. You can see your current limit in the extension's Settings page — it's set by your plan, not by a setting you can change. The take you already recorded is still saved to your Downloads folder.
My recording didn’t show up in my library.
Every recording is saved to your Downloads folder first, so a failed upload never costs you the take. If it didn't reach your library, make sure you're signed in at the dashboard — the extension picks up your session from that page automatically — then use Import on the dashboard to add the downloaded file.
The extension says I’m not signed in, but I am.
The extension receives your session from the Perfect Demo dashboard tab. Open the dashboard, sign in, and leave the tab open for a moment — the extension picks the session up on its own. If it still says signed out, reload that tab.
What does the extension actually capture?
Only while you are explicitly recording: the screen area you pick, your microphone and/or system audio if you enable it, and on-page interactions (clicks, typed text, navigation). Passwords, one-time codes, and payment fields are redacted on your device before anything leaves the page, and URLs are stripped of query strings. Nothing at all is captured when you are not recording. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
How do I delete a recording or my account data?
Delete any demo from your dashboard and its video and interaction data are removed. To delete your account and everything in it, email us at [email protected] and we'll action it.

Reporting a security issue

Please report vulnerabilities privately to [email protected] rather than opening a public issue, and give us a reasonable window to fix it before disclosing.
